The Owner

Irene Burton - Owner Blackrod House

Born in Dundee, Scotland, Irene grew up in Eccles, Manchester and attended Eccles Grammar School. She qualified as a nurse at Hope Hospital Salford in 1979 and has since gained additional qualifications in teaching and management.

In 1993 Irene began working as a registered nurse in a Newcastle upon Tyne nursing home where she soon progressed to management level. Irene has managed care homes in the North East and the Midlands.

Taking over ownership of Blackrod House in May 2007, Irene’s main goal is to enhance the life and comfort of every resident.
